Expired Uprising: Reggae, Decolonization, and Diaspora

Join TeachRock and the Department of Social Studies and Civics for a day of professional learning at The Cutting Room. Attendees will explore TeachRock’s resources and discover how to use music as a primary source pedagogy, investigate Passport to Social Studies, Civics for All, and Hidden Voices curricular materials about the intersection of reggae, diaspora, and resistance in global and US history, and learn from special guests. This session, which is part of the 2025-2026 Rock and Roll Classroom PL Tour, will provide teachers with lesson plans, materials, and strategies to bring the decolonizing power of Reggae music and its communities into their classrooms.
