Expired Engaging With Hidden Voices: Tools For Teaching Inclusive History

Join Retro Report and the New York City Department of Education Social Studies team for a workshop focused on engaging students with essential histories that are often ignored. This interactive session will allow participants to incorporate short-form documentary films, inquiry-based lessons and interactive resources for teaching about AAPI, Latinx, Indigenous and LGBTQ+ histories. Every educator will get to experience multiple tools to guide students through the inquiry process to help these histories come to life and connect to the present. We will model classroom strategies, hear from filmmakers, and have time to explore primary sources and other tools. People who attend this workshop can attend the American Historical Association Conference earlier in the day for free. For more information about the AHA conference contact Socialstudies@schools.nyc.gov

Once your registration is confirmed you will receive a confirmation email.
