Join Retro Report, in conjunction with the New York City Department of Education Social Studies team, for a workshop focused on using U.S. History and Civics resources to meet the needs of all learners. Retro Report has a new resource collection of 25 short films, accompanied by a series of scaffolded resources and primary source packs to engage students in inquiry activities and expository writing. These resources are a great fit for Grade 8: Units 5 and 6, Grade 11: Units 5-7, and across the Grade 12: Participation in Government course. We will model classroom strategies, hear from filmmakers and have time to explore primary sources and analysis tools. This workshop is made possible by a Teaching With Primary Sources Grant from the Library of Congress, and will feature some excellent resources, tools and strategies. Coffee, snacks and lunch are provided for all attendees.
Once your registration is confirmed you will receive a confirmation email.
