Active ¡Wepa! Latinos in Pop Music

Join TeachRock and the Department of Social Studies and Civics for a day of professional learning at the Museum of the City of New York. Attendees will explore TeachRock’s resources and discover how to use music as a primary source pedagogy, investigate Passport to Social Studies and Hidden Voices curricular materials about Latinos in popular music, while engaging with a multiple exhibitions at the museum, Urban Stomp, Songs of New York , and New York At It’s Core: World City. This session, which is part of the 2025-2026 Rock and Roll Classroom PL Tour, will provide teachers with lesson plans, materials, and strategies to bring this transformative cultural movement to life in their classrooms.
