Join the NYCDOE Department of Social Studies and Civics for an engaging in-person workshop where you’ll explore the Civics for All curriculum and the comic, How to Be an Action Activist 2. Participants will also enjoy a guided tour of the Stirring the Melting Pot and The New York Sari exhibition at the New York Historical Society (NYHS) and explore connections to Civics for All curricular resources. During the workshop, participants will discuss the importance of understanding communities, guiding students to create positive change, and learning how empowered individuals can contribute to this process. Weather permitting, participants will also engage in a community walk to learn more about the area through a hands-on activity. This session is designed for K-8 educators, and lunch will be provided.
